Are you trying to figure out what to do this cold weekend? If you live in the SE Wisconsin - Chicago area. I have some weekend fun that your whole family will enjoy! I can also save you $$$$$ on tickets!
Last night we had the best time!! We went to the Monster Jam at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Il. Just west of Chicago! What a fantastic way to have winter Family Fun!
Davey, Dave and I headed to the Monster Jam! As many of you know...we are a Monster Truck nut family. We own mudding trucks and love to spend our summer weekends mudding. We live in SE Wisconsin - the trip to the arena was a breeze - not bad at all. With the upgrades they have made to the interstate we flew right through - YEAH no construction! Once we arrived - we parked and headed inside. Nice arena - It gave me a good safe feeling. We had fantastic seats! Front row balcony mid court! YES!!!! Before the show started we had to get the Famous SnowCone! The special cup snow cones are one of our family traditions. Every event we buy a snow cone. I even have my Mr. Chip snow cone cup from when I was little. Davey picked out his favorite! "Tasty treat for a fun night!"
Are you ready??? It is SHOW TIME????
Here we go!
Did you know???
Each truck is about 12 feet tall & 12 feet wide
They have 66 inch tires! The tires are as tall as me - I am 5'6" tall!
Each truck weighs are least 10,000 pounds
They have 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower
Maximum speed is 100 miles a hour
They can fly up to 130 feet in distance - that is equal to 14 cars side by side not to mention that they do that 35 feet in the air!
Monster Jam, sanctioned by the United States Hot Rod Association, is the most popular monster truck tour, performing to over 4 million fans annually at the most prestigious arenas and stadiums throughout the world. Monster Jam shows consist of three main fan-favorite elements - the pit party, racing and freestyle.
One of Davey's favorite part was when the trucks tipped over. When they brought out the big machine to tip them back up right - he was impressed. He also enjoyed the backfiring of the engines! It is totally amazing to watch these huge trucks fly in the air! We were all in amazement at the skill of the drivers.
